Why add AI summary buttons?
More readers now use AI assistants to digest long content. Summary buttons meet them where they already are. Instead of copying your URL into another tab, a reader clicks once and gets a summary of your article in the assistant they prefer, with the source clearly referenced.
The buttons also act as a subtle signal of confidence: you are inviting scrutiny of your content rather than hoping readers skim it.
Where to place the buttons
- Near the top of long guides, just under the introduction, for readers who want the overview first.
- At the end of the article, as a way to recap or ask follow-up questions.
- On research, reports and comparisons, where summaries are most useful.
Making content AI-friendly
Buttons only help if the page underneath is easy to summarise accurately. Write clear headings, answer the main question early, use lists and tables for structured information, and keep facts specific and up to date. The same qualities that make content easy for an assistant to summarise also make it more likely to be quoted in AI-generated answers.
